Liberia Senate Women Association

The Liberian Senate Women’s Association will today Friday, November 7, 2025, converge on Capitol Hill for a day-long retreat, the first of its kind in the Association’s history.

The event, held under the theme β€œHolding Together as Senate Women,” brings together several high-profile officials, including the President Pro-Tempore of the Senate, Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence; the Chairperson of the Women Legislative Caucus of Liberia, Rep. Ellen Attoh Wreh; and the Minister of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Gbeme Horace.

According to the Association, the retreat is intended to strengthen unity, collaboration, and leadership among women in the Senate.

Senator Botoe Kanneh of Gbarpolu County and Senator Dabah M. Varpilah will also grace the occasion.

The retreat will feature key presentations from the Director of the Legislative Information Service, Mr. McCarthy Weh, and the Director of the Senate’s Legal Affairs Department, Cllr. Edmund P. Wright, who will serve as speakers.
