In celebration of her birthday on June 27, Aletha Massaquoi, Acting Women’s Football Manager at the Liberia Football Association (LFA), is launching a powerful new initiative titled “Celebrating Life with Football.” The kickoff event will take place on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at the SKD Practice Sports Pitch.

Aletha Massaquoi explains that this initiative is designed to support and empower female footballers across Liberia by raising funds for scholarships and creating sustainable job opportunities for players transitioning out of the sport.

“We all know that women in football face a lot of challenges due to cultural barriers,” Massaquoi stated. “But together, we can make a difference.”

Miss Massaquoi said the day will feature a short tournament, including both women’s and men’s teams, promoting camaraderie, inclusion, and sportsmanship.

She concluded that all proceeds raised will go toward educational support for female players, helping them access vocational training and formal education, equipping them for life beyond the pitch.

“Let’s turn out to make this a joyful and memorable day,” Massaquoi concluded. “I’m looking forward to seeing you all on June 28, 2025, as we celebrate life, football, and the future of our women athletes.”
