GERMANY โ€“ Two members of the Honorable House of Representatives are participating in the African Group of Negotiators (AGN) meeting, which commenced at 8:00 AM on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in Germany.

The delegation includes Hon. Anthony F. Williams, Chairman of the Committee on Banking, Finance, and Currency, and Hon. Emmanuel Dahn, Chairman of the Committee on Broadcasting and Information.

Also part of the delegation are Hon. Jeddi Armah, Deputy Minister for Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a team of climate change negotiators from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of Liberia.

The meeting, which kickstarted on Tuesday morning, saw Liberiaโ€™s lawmakers actively engaged in the first session. Representing the Liberian Legislature, Representatives Williams and Dahn are leveraging their legislative oversight and policy expertise to ensure that Liberiaโ€™s priorities are effectively integrated into Africaโ€™s unified climate agenda.

Their presence underscores Liberiaโ€™s commitment to climate diplomacy and positions the country to better advocate for:

Securing climate finance for national adaptation and mitigation projects Promoting equitable access to clean energy solutions, Protecting vulnerable communities, disproportionately affected by climate change

The lawmakersโ€™ participation also strengthens Liberiaโ€™s institutional capacity to implement its climate commitments and align global climate frameworks with domestic legislative action.

The AGN meeting provides a platform for African negotiators to harmonize positions ahead of major global climate summits. Liberiaโ€™s active involvement reflects the countryโ€™s determination to play a leading role in shaping Africaโ€™s voice on climate change.
