Speaker Koon welcomes his counterparts from Sierra Leone and Guinea

MONROVIA – The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Richard Nagbe Koon, welcomed and held a high-level meeting with the Speakers of the Parliaments of Sierra Leone, Mr. Segepoh Solomon Thomas and Guinea, Rt. Dr. Dansa Kourouma at his Capitol Building office.

The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen regional parliamentary collaboration within the Mano River Union (MRU) framework. During the visit, Speaker Koon led the visiting delegations on a tour of key sections of the Capitol Building, including the historic chambers of the House of Representatives, the fire-damaged William R. Tolbert Joint Chambers, and other significant areas within the building.

The Speakers of Sierra Leone and Guinea expressed appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality extended to them by Speaker Koon and the Liberian legislature. They emphasized their shared commitment to deepening regional cooperation and expressed optimism for the successful launch of the Mano River Union Parliament, scheduled to take place on Sunday.

Speaker Koon hailed the visit as a significant step in fostering parliamentary diplomacy and reaffirmed Liberiaโ€™s dedication to the goals and vision of the MRU.
