Richard Nagbe Koon, on behalf of Members of the House, today welcomed a high-level Business and Investment Delegation from the Dakhla Oued-Eddahab Region of the Kingdom of Morocco, led by Mr. Yanja El Khattat, President of the Regional Council.

The visit forms part of the Liberiaโ€“Morocco Business and Investment Mission, aimed at strengthening bilateral economic ties and exploring potential investment opportunities between the two nations.

According to Mr. El Khattat, the delegationโ€™s visit to Liberia follows the recognition of Liberia and Sierra Leone as โ€œCountries of the Dayโ€ during the 4th Edition of the African Business Day Forum held in Dakhla, Morocco, under the theme:

Welcoming the delegation, Speaker Koon expressed appreciation for Moroccoโ€™s interest in fostering economic and developmental cooperation with Liberia.

โ€œWe welcome this engagement and the investment opportunities it presents. Whatever agreements or investment frameworks emerge from this initiative, when brought to the Legislature, we will work diligently to ensure their passage in support of Liberiaโ€™s economic growth and bilateral cooperation,โ€ Speaker Koon stated.

He further emphasized that the strong bilateral relations between Liberia and Morocco must continue to flourish to promote mutual growth and partnership across key sectors.

The meeting was attended by several lawmakers, along with Liberiaโ€™s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco, H.E. Joseph F. Johnson, and Consul General Johnny Fallah. While in Liberia, the Moroccan delegation is expected to hold meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and other senior officials of the Liberian Government to further discuss avenues for cooperation in trade, investment, and development.
