MONROVIA – In a significant Empowerment Address delivered by the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Magdalene Dogoseh, the government unveiled a comprehensive strategic plan aimed at transforming Liberia’s economy over the next five years, from 2025 to 2029.

The plan emphasizes the critical role of the tree industry as a pillar of economic growth, driving productivity, innovation, and competitiveness across all sectors.

Minister Dogoseh outlined the Ministry’s strategic priorities, which focus on promoting industrialization and value addition to reduce import dependency while stimulating local production.

“We are committed to ensuring that our policies and programs are sensitive, inclusive, and innovation-driven, placing the private sector at the heart of Liberia’s development narrative,” she stated.

The address highlighted the importance of entrepreneurial spirit and private sector participation as key components of the strategy.

The Minister emphasized that collaboration with governmental institutions and the private sector is essential to accelerate the process of achieving these developmental goals.

“We want to see an ecosystem that fosters competition and a sustainable economy,” she said, stressing that the role of the private sector is vital in shaping Liberia’s economic future.

In her remarks, Minister Dogoseh also expressed her sincere appreciation for the contributions of the consulting team led by Dr. Toca whose expertise helped refine and enhance the strategic plan.
