
ArcelorMittal Liberia has reaffirmed its commitment to youth empowerment and sports development in Nimba County with a generous donation of Twenty-Five Thousand United States Dollars (US$25,000) to the Nimba County Sports Steering Committee.
The presentation ceremony took place on December 15, 2025, with the donation made by Mr. Lance Gbar Gonyon on behalf of ArcelorMittal Liberia. The financial support is intended to strengthen sports activities in the county, particularly as Nimba continues to play a key role in national sporting events and youth engagement programs.
Receiving the cheque on behalf of the Superintendent of Nimba County, Hon. Peter Kangaby, County Development Officer, conveyed the appreciation of Superintendent Madam Kou Meapeh Gono. She thanked ArcelorMittal Liberia for what she described as a timely and impactful contribution toward sports growth and youth development in the county.
The cheque was also formally received by Mr. Tomah Seh Floyd Jr. on behalf of the Nimba County Sports Steering Committee, who welcomed the support and highlighted its importance in enhancing preparations, logistics, and overall sports development initiatives in Nimba. The donation underscores ArcelorMittal Liberia’s continued partnership with Nimba County and its broader corporate social responsibility agenda, particularly in using sports as a tool for youth empowerment, unity, and positive community development.
