Light poles for Grand Bassa and Sinoe Counties

– 42M Euros EU-funded Project; Implemented by Rural and Renewable Energy Agency

Grand Bassa – In efforts to step-up rural electrification, another important step toward expanding reliable electricity in southeastern Liberia has been achieved with the arrival of a new set of concrete electricity poles in Buchanan City, Grand Bassa County and Greenville City, Sinoe County.

This marks a key milestone in the implementation of the Light Up Southeast Project, a statement on the official Facebook Page of the European Union Delegation to Liberia says.

Funded by the European Union with an investment of 42 million euros and implemented by the Rural and Renewable Energy Agency, the project aims to extend electricity access to communities that have long been underserved.

โ€œOnce completed, the project is expected to benefit more than 13,000 households, reaching tens of thousands of people in Greenville, Buchanan, and Barclayville.โ€

โ€œThe delivery of these materials signals the start of critical infrastructure works that will improve power supply, strengthen local economies, and support social development across the region.โ€
