In a significant move to strengthen football in Liberia, LFA President Mustapha Raji hosted a successful roundtable engagement with key stakeholders at the LFA headquarters on Friday, ahead of the upcoming LFA Extraordinary Congress scheduled for Sunday, February 22.

During the meeting, President Raji highlighted the LFA’s ongoing progress, focusing on recent partnership agreements and the growing commitment of stakeholders. He commended their sacrifices and praised the LFA Executive Committee for its strategic leadership in advancing football development.

A major point of discussion was the pending Congress, where stakeholders raised concerns and presented recommendations for further growth. These included exploring alternative sponsorship opportunities and introducing new policies for players’ welfare.

Stakeholders also acknowledged the positive impact of the LFA’s financial support, such as the increased subvention to clubs, which has risen from USD 3,900 to USD 7,500 since 2019. Moreover, the cash prizes for the First Division and Upper Women’s Division have seen significant increases, with the First Division now offering a grand prize of USD 30,000, up from LRD 1,500,000, and the Upper Women’s Division prize now USD 25,000, up from LRD 550,000.

Reaffirming his commitment to football’s future in Liberia, President Raji shared his long-term vision of building at least one mini-stadium in every county, emphasizing his dedication to decentralizing the sport across the nation.
