The Executive Committee of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) on Tuesday, 24 February, honored an invitation from the Ministry of Youth and Sports for an acquaintance meeting aimed at strengthening collaboration for the future of Liberian football.

The meeting, held at the Ministry’s headquarters, provided an opportunity for the LFA leadership to congratulate Minister Cornelia Kruah and engage her team on key strategic priorities, ongoing achievements, and the challenges confronting football development in the country.

Speaking during the engagement, LFA President Mustapha I. Raji emphasized that greater government intervention remains essential to accelerating football development nationwide. He highlighted the Association’s continued prudent use of FIFA and CAF Impact funding to improve infrastructure, train coaches and referees, and nurture emerging talents, but noted that increased national support would significantly broaden the impact across all sectors, including the various national teams.

Minister Kruah reaffirmed her commitment to strengthening ties between the Ministry and the LFA. She called on the Association to clearly outline priority areas where government intervention could produce quick and measurable results, particularly in infrastructure development, talent identification, and women’s football.

The LFA delegation included 2nd Vice President Saye-Taayor Adolphus Dolo, 3rd Vice President Jodie Reid-Seton, Executive Committee Members Ivan G. Brown, Pawala Janyan, Kelvin Bayoh, Tickly D. Monkoney, Jr., and Deputy Chairperson of the LFA Beach Soccer and Futsal Committee, Gbanja Scott.

The meeting signals a renewed commitment by both institutions to work collaboratively toward advancing the growth and sustainability of football in Liberia.
