Bo Waterside — The Grand Cape County Health Team has begun enhancing local Mpox response capacity at the Bo Waterside border with support from the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the West African Health Organization (WAHO).

According to the County Health Team, support from WAHO has facilitated the provision of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) materials and the ongoing preparation of an isolation center at the WAHO Health Center and four other health facilities within the county.

A dedicated medical doctor has been assigned to lead case management efforts at the border point, working in collaboration with the DHT and CHT teams.

In addition, the Grand Cape Mount County Health Team has commenced vaccination of port and clinical staff stationed at the WAHO Health Center’s isolation unit to further fortify frontline defenses.

These measures are part of a strategy to ensure a timely and effective response to any potential outbreak at Liberia’s border with Sierra Leone.
