Squatters homes being bulldozed from alley ways, etc

MONROVIA – In response to the government’s recent decision to clear numerous alleyways as part of an ongoing urban development initiative, Councilor George B. Kailando has voiced his full support, urging community residents to embrace the changes for the sake of progress and modernization.

Speaking at a local gathering, Cllr. Kailando emphasized that while the demolition of informal structures may be painful for some, the long-term benefits of improved infrastructure and urban planning far outweigh the temporary discomfort.

“Development is important,” Cllr. Kailando stated. “We must look at the bigger picture and realize that clearing these alleys is essential to creating a cleaner, safer, and more organized environment for everyone.”

Recognizing the hardship this decision may bring to affected residents, Cllr. Kailando also announced immediate support measures. “I am going to give the money to the community leadership to help distribute among those victimized by the demolition,” he declared. “This will at least assist with their transportation to relocate.”

His remarks come as dozens of residents express concern over the lack of advance notice and the absence of compensation following the demolition of their homes and businesses. While many residents remain skeptical, others have praised Kailando’s gesture as a step toward easing the transition.

Community leaders have committed to ensuring that any funds received are distributed fairly and transparently to those most in need.

As the city continues its push for urban renewal, Cllr. Kailando urged patience and cooperation from residents, promising to work closely with both the government and the community to ensure no one is left behind during the development process.
