
MONROVIA – The Deputy Managing Director for Administration of the National Port Authority (NPA), Mr. Richard Bernard has praised the Liberia National Truckers Union (LINTU) as the “unsung engine” behind Liberia’s economic growth.” Speaking as guest speaker at LINTU’s induction ceremony, Bernard emphasized unity, accountability, and transformative initiatives as vital to strengthening commerce and national development.

Bernard urged LINTU to collaborate with stakeholders, uphold fair labor practices, and advocate for truckers’ welfare while commending the outgoing leadership for their dedication. He challenged the new leadership to embrace policies supporting infrastructure, private investment, and international partnerships.
Deputy MD for Operations Mr. Emmanuel Horton, serving as installing officer, called for transparency and teamwork, stressing that collaboration between LINTU, NPA, and the government can build a modern logistics sector unmatched in West Africa.

LINTU President Omaru Fofana pledged 100% tax compliance, road safety enforcement, and proper truck documentation. He announced the “LINTU Parking Lot Project” to reduce congestion and proposed 24/7 Port operations to improve efficiency.
The newly inducted executives include Omaru Fofana (President), Abraham B. Mulbah (Vice President) and Yahaya Kamara (Secretary), among others, for a three-year term.
