A Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ statement on Friday says, the visit marks the official commencement of the AU Pre-Assessment Mission to evaluate logistical and technical arrangements for the forthcoming Youth Strategy Forum on Peacebuilding and the Right to Development, scheduled to take place in Monrovia later this year.

Organized by Messengers of Peace in collaboration with the African Union through its Post-Conflict Reconstruction and Development (PCRD) policy under the Department of Political Affairs, Peace and Security, the forum will be accompanied by a Quick Impact Project that underscores the right to development as an essential pillar of sustainable peacebuilding.

The delegation was officially received by Deputy Minister for Legal Affairs, Cllr. Jeddi Armah and Assistant Minister/Chief of Staff, Saran Kaba Jones, who both reaffirmed the Ministry’s support for the mission.

Their engagement underscores Liberia’s active role in advancing the objectives of the AU-led assessment, fostering strong local civil society partnerships and deepening regional cooperation.
