With boundless love and deep affection, the Doe Family invites every peace-loving Liberian to join us in celebrating the extraordinary lives of our beloved parents, former President Samuel Kanyon Doe and former First Lady Nancy Bohn Doe.
Their joint burial is set for 27 June 2025 at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Compound in Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County, where they will be honored with a full State Burial ceremony.
We are working closely with the Government of Liberia, under the leadership of His Excellency President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, to ensure this national moment of remembrance reflects the dignity and legacy of both leaders. Thanks to the Government, we are happy to be partakers of real peace and reconciliation—something our parents longed and laboured for in their time.
We invite all Liberians to accompany us at various stops along the way from Monrovia to Grand Gedeh and kindly ask that you wear white with optional gold accents in joyous celebration. These colours symbolize new beginnings, triumph, and our gratitude to God for their lives.
