The Fadiga twin brothers, Hassan and Hussein Fadiga

MONROVIA – In a dramatic turn of events, Sheriffs have arrested Hussein Fadiga, one of the notorious Fadiga brothers, following a court order mandating his imprisonment due to a significant libel case. The case, won by former DEA boss Col. Abraham Kromah, has resulted in a hefty judgment of US$1.5 million against the Fadiga brothers.

Fadiga has now been transferred to the Monrovia Central Prison (South Beach) as part of the enforcement of the courtโ€™s ruling. The legal battle began when Kromah initially sought damages amounting to US$5 million, but the court ultimately ruled in favor of Kromah for the reduced amount of US$1.5 million.

In a preceding move, the court had issued a travel ban against the Fadiga brothers last week as a consequence of their refusal to settle the owed amount to Kromah. This decisive step by the sheriff underscores the Judiciary’s commitment to accountability and adherence to legal obligations.

The Court today, June 13, took Hussein Fadiga into custody

The arrest has drawn attention, with public sentiment divided over the actions of the Fadiga brothers and the implications of the lawsuit. Observers are closely watching how this development will affect the ongoing legal proceedings and the brothers’ reputations in Liberia.

As the situation unfolds, further updates are expected regarding Hussein Fadiga’s case and any additional actions from the court.
