District #14 Football Team Steering Committee Chairman, Amb. Mamudu D. Bah, has outlined an ambitious goal for the 2025 LFA Montserrado District League: reaching the finals and winning the championship.

In an exclusive interview on Friday July 11, 2025, Bah emphasized that the teamโ€™s primary objective is not only to compete but to make history in this yearโ€™s tournament.

โ€œThe legacy I want to set this year is to reach the final and win the trophy,โ€ Bah stated confidently.

He explained that the selection process for the team was transparent and focused on merit. Coaches were appointed by the Steering Committee and instructed to select players actively participating in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th division football.

According to Bah, this strategy ensures that only committed and competitive athletes represent the district.

โ€œWe are not incorporating players who are not actively playing football,โ€ he said. โ€œWe also mandated that 95% of the selected players must come from within District #14.โ€

Amb. Bah further highlighted that the Steering Committee was carefully structured, with clear roles and responsibilities for all members. Financial matters, he noted, are handled with transparency and accountability.

โ€œAll funds are managed by the treasurer, who is the custodian of all monies generated,โ€ Bah explained. โ€œThe Secretary General and the Vice Chair for Operation also maintain records of all financial transactions.โ€

He said that the coaches and technical team were given autonomy guided by the principles and criteria set by the Steering Committee.

Amb. Bah acknowledged that the journey hasn’t been without its challenges.

โ€œThere are many challenges at the moment,โ€ he admitted, โ€œbut we are prepared to go through them and believe that things will work out.โ€

Bah described the drive for success as intense and deeply personal for the district.

โ€œSuccess for the District #14 team, to me, is like a hungry tiger in the zone. It has been a long time since we advanced past the group stage. This year, our goal is not just to qualify but to reach the final and win.โ€

He called on all stakeholders within District #14 to rally behind the team not only financially but also through moral and spiritual support.

โ€œWe are calling on everyone in our district to make their contributions, however they can. This is a collective effort,โ€ he urged.

Amb. Mamudu D. Bah concluded by reaffirming his vision for the season.

โ€œOur goal is to reach the final and win the trophy. Thatโ€™s the legacy I want to set this year.โ€
