In a drive to accelerate fast growth and development in Liberia’s footballing sector, the Liberia Football Association President, Mustapha Raji, flanked by Executive Committee member, Tickly D. Monkoney, LFA’s Deputy General Secretary Mohammed A. Sheriff, and Club Presidents Sylvanus Morris of Global Pharma, Christopher Weah of Stages Queen, and Ofori Nicholas Jr. of Ravia Angels, all visited and inspected the Gompa Mini Stadium in Gompa (Ganta) City, Nimba County, where renovation works are ongoing and are nearing completion.

Mr. Weah’s presence during the visitation of the new football facility in Ganta as one of the delegation members, was not a coincidence.
Christopher, who recently told sports reporters that his interest is for Football development, promised to make himself available anytime to work along with President Raji once he is called upon as his presence in Nimba was evidence of his commitment to the development of the game.
The football stakeholders during the visitation beamed with smile signifying a sign of relief and great impression for the level of work done thus far on the stadium.

Very satisfied to see another milestone development within the sector, the football decision makers were thrilled to see the successful completion of the artificial turf (the playing pitch), a key component of the project while works are now underway for the installation of goalposts and substitution benches.
As part of the renovation works in line with standards and best practices, other key upgrades include the installation of floodlights for night games, an underground water sprinkler system, inner fencing, and roofing for the spectator stands, respectively.
At the same time, other essential components of the renovation works include, the dressing rooms to ensure that it meets the standards of the newly refurbished mini stadium.

According to the Football House President, the Gompa project is an expansion of the LFA’s infrastructure development efforts.
As other projects are underway, Raji reassure stakeholders that he is committed to using football money to improve and develop football infrastructures across the Country.
The proactive and result-oriented President expressed gratitude to the contractors for the level of work done on the project but at the same time encouraged the contractors to speed up the work so that the main beneficiaries can begin using the facility.
He stated that once fully completed, the pitch will host various LFA competitions, including grassroots football.
Meanwhile, the project, funded by FIFA through the FIFA Forward Program, commenced on November 4, 2024, and is expected to be officially dedicated soon.
