
MONROVIA – Liberia and Argentina are looking to deepen diplomatic and investment ties following a high-level visit by Liberia’s Honorary Consul to Argentina, Dr. Gerardo Fabian Bernstein, a statement released by the Liberia Maritime Authority (LiMA) says.
Dr. Bernstein, who has long-standing ties to the Liberian maritime sector, Thursday, August 7, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to Madam Sara Beysolow Nyanti, Minister of Foreign Affairs. The two discussed avenues to strengthen bilateral relations and explore investment opportunities.

During his four-day visit to Liberia, Dr. Bernstein also held meetings with several key institutions, including the National Investment Commission, Ministry of Agriculture Liberia, Liberia Chamber of Commerce, Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Liberia Football Association. Discussions focused on attracting investment in sectors such as agriculture, mining, energy, and sports development.
The Commissioner/CEO of the Liberia Maritime Authority, Cllr. Neto Zarzar Lighe Sr., expressed appreciation on behalf of the Board of Directors. He thanked Minister Nyanti and the participating institutions for the warm reception and support extended to Dr. Bernstein during his visit.

“Dr. Bernstein continues to play a meaningful role in advancing Liberia’s maritime program,” Cllr. Lighe said. “His efforts are helping to position Liberia as a key player not only in global shipping but also as a viable destination for foreign investment.”
The visit marks a renewed push to enhance Liberia’s global partnerships and promote sustainable economic growth through strategic diplomacy.
