Former Representative Solomon George

MONROVIA – In a recent local television appearance in Monrovia, Solomon George, the former Representative of Montserrado County District 7, expressed strong support for President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, praising him as a genuine servant leader dedicated to public service. George emphasized the importance of Boakai’s leadership style, contrasting it sharply with that of former President George Weah, whom he described as an “Ayatollah” due to his authoritarian governance tactics.

George’s remarks highlight his admiration for Boakai’s humility, empathy, and commitment to improving the lives of the Liberian people. He underscored how these qualities have fostered a more inclusive and caring approach to leadership, which he believes is essential for effective governance.

The former representative’s comments come at a time when the political landscape in Liberia is experiencing significant shifts, and his endorsement may influence public perception of President Boakaiโ€™s administration as it works to address the needs of the community. George’s critique of Weah reflects ongoing debates regarding governance styles and the importance of democratic values in the country. Overall, Georgeโ€™s statements serve as a call for a return to leadership that prioritizes the welfare of the people and upholds the principles of democracy, resonating with many Liberians who seek a more equitable and just society.

According to him, he had warned his friend (the former President) of many year, to part ways with former Minister for Presidential Affairs Nathaniel McGill (now Senator for Margibi County) and former Finance Minister Samuel Tweh, but Weah didn’t listen to him.

He went on to say that only fools will vote George Weah if he ever came back to run for the Presidency.
