President of the Liberia Football Association, Mr. Mustapha Raji

The Liberia Football Association (LFA) has announced sweeping financial improvements for both men’s and women’s competitions, including substantial increases in prize money and club subventions, starting from the 2025/26 season.

Key changes include:

First Division prize money up 50% to US$30,000.

Women’s Upper Division prize money up 25% to US$25,000.

Subventions to Women’s Upper Division clubs up by US$1,500, now US$7,500 per club per season.

FA Cup prize money for men’s and women’s categories increased and equalized at US$10,000 each.

The decision was unanimously approved during the LFA Executive Committee meeting chaired by President Mustapha I. Raji on Friday, August 8, at LFA headquarters.

According to the LFA, this investment is part of a broader football development strategy to raise the competitiveness and prestige of Liberian football. The extra subvention for women’s clubs is funded through the CAF Impact Fund.
