MONROVIA – Liberia National Police (LNP) addressed a serious incident involving an assault on one of its officers, Patrolman Koilous N. Larmin, who was on duty regulating traffic in the Sinkor area.
The briefing began with introductory remarks acknowledging the presence of media members and the general public watching live across Liberia and beyond.
The LNP emphasized its commitment to transparency and accountability, reiterating a clear stance against any actions that undermine the authority and safety of law enforcement personnel.
On the morning of the incident, Patrolman Larmin was diligently managing traffic at the intersection of 12th Street when he encountered 67-year-old Klady A. Paul, a local classroom teacher, who approached him in a visibly hostile manner.
Despite his efforts to maintain order, Mrs. Paul verbally assaulted him, using profanities and inflammatory language that escalated into physical aggression.
Video footage captured during the incident shows Mrs. Paul physically assaulting Patrolman Larmin, resulting in visible injuries to his face.

The assault not only endangered the safety of the officer but also disrupted public order, exemplifying a blatant disregard for the rule of law. During her outburst, she also damaged important police equipment, specifically a government-issued radio.
Following a thorough investigation, the LNP has formally charged Mrs. Paul with Simple Assault, Criminal Mischief, and Disorderly Conduct under the laws of the Republic of Liberia.
These charges reflect the severity of her actions, and she is set to face prosecution in court shortly after the briefing.
In a show of support for its officers, the LNP commended Patrolman Larmin for his resilience and professionalism amidst the assault.

The police force highlighted his ability to maintain composure under pressure as a model of the values expected of law enforcement officials.
The LNP closed the briefing with a firm warning regarding the consequences of assaulting officers, stating that it operates with a zero-tolerance policy for such behavior.
They called on citizens to respect law enforcement and uphold public order, reminding everyone that peace begins with personal responsibility.
The Liberia National Police remains steadfast in its mission to protect the rights of all citizens while ensuring that any violations of law, especially against its officers, are met with decisive action.
