MONROVIA – The most anticipated Bettomax Champions Cup matches are set to officially kick off this Saturday, August 23, at 3:00 p.m. at Tusa Field in Gardnersville, with Heaven Eleven taking on Blackman Warriors in the opening match.
Blackman Warriors, who finished ninth last season, step in to replace league champions FQC Fassell, who withdrew due to pre-season commitments in Egypt.
The Warriors will also represent Liberia in the CAF Confederation Cup this season and will use the tournament to prepare for their September doubleheader against Benin’s Cotton Sports, with the first leg scheduled for September 19–21 at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex.
Heaven Eleven, runners-up last season, enter the tournament as one of the local favorites, with their sights set firmly on the $10,000 top prize.
In two meetings last season, the ‘Messengers’ recorded one win and one draw against the ‘Warriors,’ adding an intriguing edge to this opening clash.
A thrilling start awaits as clubs battle for glory and bragging rights in Liberia’s premier pre-season tournament.
