Liberia’s senior men’s national team, the Lone Star, suffered a 3-0 defeat to Tunisia on September 4, 2025, in their seventh match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup African Qualifiers.
Despite the setback, the journey continues with another crucial away fixture against Malawi on September 8.
So far, Liberia has recorded 3 wins, 1 draw, and 2 defeats from six matches, collecting a total of 10 points in Group H. Group H consists of Tunisia, Equatorial Guinea, Namibia, Malawi, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Liberia. Only the group winner will automatically qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, while the runner-up will get a chance through the playoff route.
