National Union of Organizations for the Disabled (NUOD)

MONROVIA – The National Port Authority (NPA) has reaffirmed its commitment to inclusivity and social responsibility by supporting the National Union of Organizations for the Disabled (NUOD) with a donation of L$100,000, coinciding with the opening of NUOD’s new headquarters at the Old Ministry of Health Building on Capitol By-Pass.

The donation was presented to NUOD President Peter Flomo by NPA Senior Director for Public Relations, Jusu Kamara, on behalf of NPA Managing Director Hon. Sekou A.M. Dukuly. Kamara emphasized that this contribution marks the beginning of ongoing support for the disabled community in Liberia.

“We are committed to standing with persons with disabilities and ensuring they have the necessary support to thrive,” Kamara said. “The Managing Director believes in empowering all segments of society, and this donation is a step toward fulfilling that commitment.”

Responding to the donation, NUOD President Flomo expressed gratitude and optimism. “In the past, the union did not receive much attention, but we are now seeing positive change,” he said. “We look forward to meeting with the Managing Director to discuss our challenges and explore collaborative solutions.”

NUOD’s new headquarters represents a significant milestone in supporting Liberia’s disability community, providing a dedicated space to coordinate programs, advocate for rights, and promote inclusivity.

Through this initiative, the National Port Authority continues to position itself as a key partner in Liberia’s development journey, ensuring that persons with disabilities are recognized and empowered as vital contributors to the nation’s progress.
