Gbarpolu County has appointed Mr. Roger Abim Karmon as Chairman of its Sports Steering Committee, with Mr. Abraham Kanneh serving as Co-Chairman for Administration.
The appointments come as the county intensifies preparations to host Montserrado and Bong Counties in the upcoming 2025/2026 National County Sports Meet.
In his acceptance remarks, Chairman Karmon expressed optimism and a firm commitment to leading Gbarpolu to success in this year’s edition of the prestigious tournament.
“This is Gbarpolu’s year to shine,” he declared, calling for unity among citizens at home and abroad to rally behind their teams. “Together, we can achieve something historic for our county.”
The newly constituted Sports Steering Committee is expected to commence work immediately—overseeing team training, logistics coordination, and community mobilization. Their goal is to ensure that Gbarpolu not only hosts successfully but also competes at a high level across all disciplines.
