
KAKATA, Margibi County – Former Bong County District #2 Representative Candidate, Captain Jerry K. Kollie, has praised the Alternative National Congress (ANC) for its peaceful and democratic convention held in Kakata.
The convention saw Mr. Alexander Benedict Cummings elected as Political Leader and Cllr. Laveyette Horatio Gould as National Chairman, signaling a new leadership chapter for the party.
Captain Kollie commended the ANC for adhering to democratic principles, emphasizing that the convention serves as a model for tolerance, participation, and transparent political engagement. “The ANC has stayed the course, advocating for good governance and keeping the current government accountable, in a violence-free manner,” he noted.
He further urged collaboration among political parties, coalitions, and democratic institutions to ease tensions, promote economic opportunities, remove social barriers, and strengthen national security. As Liberia approaches the 2029 elections, Capt. Kollie highlighted the importance of sustaining democratic gains while addressing systemic challenges. “We thank the ANC leadership for their commitment and wish our people well as we collectively work toward national progress,” he concluded.
