Nimba County, Liberia — Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung has dismissed persistent rumors of a political rift between himself and Senator Samuel Kogar, insisting their relationship remains solid and cooperative.
Speaking on the Voice of Gompa (VOG) radio station, the Vice President said the speculation was baseless. “Nothing is going on between Kogar and me. All that’s being spread are just rumors,” Koung clarified.
He reaffirmed his continued political support for the Nimba senator: “Even if elections were held today, I would still support Senator Kogar. I have no regrets and will never regret supporting him.”

Koung also highlighted the long-standing family and political ties between Senator Kogar and Senator Prince Y. Johnson, noting that the trio’s cooperation has been essential to maintaining stability within Nimba’s political leadership.
“If you check Senator Kogar and Senator Johnson’s DNA, it will be the same — they are brothers,” Koung said humorously, adding that he has intentionally given Kogar space to lead within their political structure. The Vice President’s comments are seen as a bid to quell growing speculation about internal divisions in Nimba’s political camp as the county braces for future electoral contests.
