MONROVIA, Liberia – The ruling Unity Party (UP) has announced December 6, 2025, as the official date for the groundbreaking ceremony of its nationwide headquarters, signaling a major push to strengthen its organizational structure and national presence.
Speaking at a press conference in Monrovia, UP National Chairman Luther Tarpeh described the initiative as a “historic step toward institutional transformation” and a milestone in the party’s evolution. “Our party is the only political party in Liberia’s history that has left power and returned,” Tarpeh said, emphasizing the significance of the event in consolidating the Unity Party’s influence across the country.

Chairman Tarpeh outlined a vision for the party that extends beyond political symbolism. “It’s time to build a Green Party that will serve the Liberian people for the next 200 years,” he stated, highlighting the leadership’s commitment to infrastructure development, membership expansion, and nationwide outreach.
The initiative mirrors efforts by the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC), which previously embarked on similar headquarters construction projects aimed at strengthening party operations and visibility. Political observers note that such moves reflect a broader trend among Liberian political parties to institutionalize operations and solidify national presence beyond election cycles.

During the press conference, UP officials also touched on pressing national and internal issues, reaffirming the party’s commitment to governance, unity, and sustainable development. With President Joseph Nyuma Boakai leading the party, the Unity Party appears focused on long-term organizational stability and a renewed political vision for Liberia.
The groundbreaking ceremony, set to take place in Monrovia, is expected to draw party leaders, supporters, and key stakeholders from across Liberia, marking a visible step toward the Unity Party’s nationwide expansion and institutional consolidation.
