
MONROVIA – In a significant move to alleviate the pressing issue of unemployment in Liberia Representative Nehke E . Gaye the newly appointed chair of the Committee on Foreign Affairs has initiated discussions aimed at establishing a robust platform for economic development.
Gaye’s leadership comes at a critical time when many young people in Liberia are seeking meaningful employment opportunities.
During a recent assembly, Gaye highlighted the urgent need for strategic collaborations that can enhance job prospects for the youth.
He spoke After the Moroccan delegation is expected to hold meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and other senior officials of the Liberian Government to further discuss avenues for cooperation in trade, investment, and development.
Referring to the collaborative efforts with the Kingdom of Morocco as a stepping stone Gaye expressed gratitude for the diplomatic engagement and its potential to benefit Liberians.
“We hope that these discussions translate the commitment of both sides into actionable outcomes that facilitate investment opportunities in our district and beyond,” Gaye stated.
He emphasized the importance of foreign investments in creating sustainable jobs acknowledging that a strong local labor market is pivotal for national growth.
“The executive branch has a crucial role in following up on these arrangements to ensure that potential investments are not only attracted but also successfully integrated into our local economy,” he added.
Gaye pointed out that addressing the high unemployment rate among young citizens is not just a matter of policy but a moral obligation to foster a thriving economic environment.
