Women's Football capacity building workshop

The Liberia Football Association (LFA) Women’s Football Department has officially kicked off a two-day capacity building workshop aimed at strengthening the role of women in football administration and development across the country.

The workshop, which runs from October 24 to 26, 2025, brings together women from various football backgrounds to enhance their skills and understanding in managing football programs effectively.

Dubbed “Girls Guard Training,” the initiative is designed to sharpen the minds of women and inspire leadership in the growth of women’s football in Liberia.

The LFA, under the leadership of President Mustapha I. Raji, continues to prioritize women’s football development as one of its key pillars demonstrating the association’s ongoing commitment to gender inclusion and sports advancement.

Acting Women’s Football Manager, Aletha Massaquoi, who is leading the exercise, emphasized that the workshop is not only about education but also about empowerment. She noted that creating opportunities for women to actively participate in football administration is crucial for the long-term success of the sport in Liberia.

“This training is part of our broader plan to ensure that women are not left behind in football management and development. We want to build capable women who will drive the game forward at every level,” Massaquoi said.

Participants are expected to leave the workshop equipped with practical knowledge and leadership skills that will contribute to strengthening women’s football structures nationwide.
