The Liberia Football Association (LFA), through its Women’s Football Department, on Friday, October 24, commenced a three-day capacity-building workshop for Girls Guard at the Association’s headquarters in Monrovia.
The initiative forms part of FIFA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen women’s football development and boost the participation of young girls in the sport.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, LFA Women’s Football Manager Aletha Massaquoi lauded FIFA for its continued support toward the advancement of women’s football in Liberia.
Massaquoi underscored the significance of the program, describing football as a vital tool for women’s empowerment.
“Football is more than just a game; it is a powerful tool for empowering young women. This workshop is only the first step, and it’s up to you to make the most of this opportunity,” she encouraged participants.
The three-day workshop aims to build participants’ knowledge and skills in field protocol and the etiquette of the Girls Guard, equipping them to contribute meaningfully to the growth and sustainability of women’s football across the country.
