
The Liberia Football Association (LFA), through its Women’s Football Department, has successfully concluded a three-day capacity-building training for the Girls Guard.
Held from October 24 to 26, 2025, at the LFA headquarters, the FIFA-funded workshop aimed to enhance participants’ knowledge of field protocol and etiquette to further support the growth of women’s football in Liberia.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, LFA 3rd Vice President, Mrs. Jodie M. Reid-Seton, expressed gratitude to FIFA for its continued support of women’s football and commended the participants for their commitment throughout the training.
She emphasized that football remains a vital platform for women’s empowerment and community development, urging the trainees to apply their new skills in advancing the women’s game at all levels.
Members of the LFA Women’s Football Committee, Olive Steveson and Snamie Tarkor, who attended the closing program, also congratulated the participants and encouraged them not to take their newly acquired knowledge for granted.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, Georgelyn Baker extended appreciation to the LFA and FIFA for organizing the training and providing such a valuable learning experience, while expressing optimism about future opportunities. The LFA reaffirmed its commitment to fostering an inclusive football environment that empowers young girls and creates pathways for greater participation in the sport across the country.
