MONROVIA- The Senate has received and noted President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s request for an extension to submit the Draft National Budget for Fiscal Year 2026.
The President initially had to submit the budget by October 31, 2025, but has requested an extension until November 7, 2025, to allow for additional consultations with stakeholders and external partners.
The Chief Executive in his communication stated that the extension will ensure a credible, comprehensive, and realistic national budget framework that meets domestic fiscal requirements and international best practices in public financial management.
Following the reading of the communication, the plenary unanimously agreed to note the Presidentโs request โ as the Senate awaits the draft budgetโs submission on Friday, November 7, 2025.
