
Grand Bassa – Representative Alfred Flomo of Grand Bassa County Electoral District #4 is very pleased with the development work that ArcelorMittal Liberia (AML) has been doing in the county.
He specifically mentioned AML’s contributions to road construction and education, highlighting the recent road connections as a significant achievement.
“It’s wonderful to hear about the positive impact the company is having on the community,” Flomo said.
The Grand Bassa County Electoral District #4 lawmaker praised the company for its recent road connection work. He highlighted that the company’s efforts have greatly benefited the district.
He mentioned that many residents have been able to enroll in the company’s vocational training institute in Yeakapa, Nimba County, and are now contributing to the nation in various ways.

“ArcelorMittal Liberia as a significant player in the country’s mining industry, has been instrumental in social development initiatives aimed at benefiting local communities, particularly in three affected counties, including Grand Bassa.
“The company’s efforts in infrastructure improvement, education, and health services have made substantial impact on the communities,” he stated.
Rep Flomo further said that improved transportation networks that facilitate better access to markets, schools, and health care services, enhanced connectivity between rural and urban areas, promoting economic activities and mobility for residents.
The Grand Bassa lawmaker added that investment in school infrastructure, including classrooms and educational materials, which has led to increased enrollment and improved educational outcomes.
He said scholarship programs and vocational training aimed at equipping young people with skills for future employment opportunities.

Construction and rehabilitation of health facilities, providing better access to medical care for local populations, health awareness campaigns and outreach programs focused on maternal and child health, disease prevention, and overall community health improvement.
