
BTC, Monrovia – On November 24, 2025 a delegation from the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) in Jaji, Nigeria, arrived in Liberia for a one-week Africa Study Tour under the theme “Harnessing Community-Led Security Initiatives for Enhanced National Security”.
The delegation which comprised of 47 students and 7 staff members is expected to visit several public and private institutions, including host Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL), in and outside Monrovia. This marks the 47th Senior Staff Course of the AFCSC.

In honor of the AFCSC Course 47 Study Tour delegation, a program was held at Headquarters (HQ) AFL on today, November 24, 2025. The AFL Deputy Chief for Operations, Lieutenant Colonel Blaselee M. Wilson conducted a brief on behalf of the AFL.
The brief focused on Liberia’s geostrategic setting, the constitutional roles of the AFL, prevailing security issues, community-led security efforts and AFL role in harnessing community-led security efforts to enhance national security.
According to the delegation leader, Brig Gen EA Orakwe, the AFCSC is a tri-service institution that trains selected officers on staff and command responsibilities. The college conducts two major courses for selected officers, Junior Course for the rank of Nigerian Army Captain and its equivalent in the Nigerian Navy and Air Force while the Senior Course is for the rank of Nigerian Army Major and its equivalent in the navy and air force. He added that slots for these courses are awarded to interested countries in Africa and across the world.

Several AFL officers, including its current Chief of Staff (COS), Maj Gen Davidson Fayiah Forleh, trained and schooled at the AFCSC. AFL officers do not only obtain high standard military certificates from the college but also a Master Degree that is academically entrenched in the college’s robust curriculum.
Maj Gen Forleh thanked Brig Gen Orakwe for selecting Liberia as one of the countries for the study tour and wished the students success in their research. He extended greetings to the Commandant of the AFCSC and finally exchanged gifts with the visiting delegation.
