MONROVIA – In a dramatic turn of events Wednesday morning, an attempted armed robbery occurred at the Ecobank branch located on 11th Street, Sinkor. A private security officer stationed at the bank confirmed that the incident involved an attack on a bank teller by a well-dressed suspect armed with a firearm and a canister of pepper spray hidden within a bag.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that the suspect entered the private banking hall on the upper floor and, without warning, launched an assault on the teller. Reports suggest he struck the teller in the eyes using two fingers in an apparent effort to incapacitate her.

In a critical moment, as the suspect attempted to deploy the pepper spray, the teller managed to raise the alarm, alerting nearby personnel and law enforcement. Thanks to the swift response from police officers, the suspect was apprehended at the scene before he could escape.
