— Calls Initiative “A Gift to Liberia’s Future”

Monrovia, Liberia – In one of the largest privately funded education initiatives in Liberia’s recent history, Bishop Prof. Rudolph Q. Kwanue Sr., PhD, Founder and President of Rudolph Kwanue University College (RKUC), has announced the award of 1,000 full tuition scholarships to students who successfully passed the 2025 WAEC/WASSCE examinations.

Valued at US$860,000, the scholarship program aims to make higher education accessible to talented but underprivileged Liberian students across the country.

RKUC—located in Pipeline, Wein Town Community, Paynesville, Montserrado County—is fully accredited by the National Commission on Higher Education (NCHE) and internationally recognized by the Board of Quality Standards (BQS). The university offers degree programs in Education, Theology, Business, Agriculture, Criminal Justice, Science and Technology, Computer Science, and Engineering.

During the 7th Graduation Ceremony of Paynesville Central Academy Annex 2 on October 19, 2025, Bishop Kwanue awarded 52 graduates full tuition scholarships to pursue undergraduate studies at RKUC. This gesture, he said, forms part of the university’s 1,000 Tuition Waiver Program—a nationwide campaign to promote access and equity in higher learning.

At Rancelia High School, Bishop Kwanue went further, announcing that all 66 graduates of the Class of Grace (2024–2025) will be admitted to RKUC with full tuition waived, an estimated US$70,000 in value.

“Education is the foundation of every nation’s progress,” Bishop Kwanue told graduates. “I want you to focus on your studies, respect your families, and stay away from habits that destroy potential—such as drinking, smoking, and bad company.”

So far, hundreds of students across Liberia have benefitted under the initiative, including:

  • 66 students from Rancelia Christian School System
  • 282 from Patmelia High School
  • 52 from Paynesville Central Academy Annex 2
  • 150 from Nimba Kwado Inc.
  • 190 from Upstairs Christian Academy (pending November 26)
  • 65 from Oteven Foundation Institute (pending November 29)

In a related development, RKUC on October 22, 2025, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Nimba Kwado National Leadership Team, guaranteeing 150 full scholarships specifically for students from Nimba County.

“As a son of Nimba, I cannot forget where I came from,” Bishop Kwanue said. “This is my way of giving back to the land that raised me.”

Bishop Kwanue reaffirmed that the entire scholarship program is personally funded, underscoring his long-term commitment to Liberia’s educational advancement.

“We cannot build a prosperous nation without an educated generation,” he added. “This initiative is not just about tuition—it is about hope, opportunity, and national renewal.”

The Rudolph Kwanue University College 1,000 Tuition Waiver Program is expected to benefit students from all 15 counties, fostering a new wave of educated young Liberians ready to contribute to national growth and development.
