Bureau of State Enterprises (BSE) concluded day one of its four-day comprehensive Stakeholder Dialogue and Tax Clinic for State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs)

Ganta, Nimba County – The Bureau of State Enterprises (BSE) concluded day one of its four-day comprehensive Stakeholder Dialogue and Tax Clinic for State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) . The forum, taking place in Ganta, Nimba County, aims to enhance compliance, transparency, and collaboration between SOEs and regulatory bodies.

The Dialogue brought together key stakeholders, including heads of SOEs executives, government officials, and tax experts from the LRA and MFDP. It featured high-level engagements and practical sessions on statutory compliance, tax obligations, and strategic planning for SOEs.

Delivering opening remarks, Mr. Roosevelt K. Forh, Deputy Director General appreciated heads of SOEs for making it their duties to form part of the dialogue. Forh stressed that their cooperation and commitment in making sure that the ARREST AGENDA is achieved was commendable.

Also speaking, Mr. Arthur S. Massaquoi, Director General of the BSE, thanked President Joseph Boakai for his continued support towards the BSE, adding that President Boakai’s support has reaffirmed his commitment to robustly manage the BSE for SOEs compliance.

Day One witnessed the presence of Nimba County Superintendent, Madam Koumeapeh Gono, who deputized for President Joseph Nyuma Boakai.

In her remarks, she expressed gratitude to BSE management for such a remarkable and timely dialogue which posed to bring together SOEs for Governance and Domestic Resource Mobilization in the sector. In addition to her statements, she cautioned SOEs to remain compliance of the PFMA laws for transparency, accountability and efficiency.

The opening sessions covered the roles and functions of the BSE, statutory reporting requirements for SOEs, and updates on the Public Financial Management Act (PFMA).

Day Two will focus on tax-related obligations, including personal income tax, contract staff withholdings, GST, and the use of the LITAS platform.

This initiative reflects the BSE’s commitment to strengthening SOE governance, improving financial transparency, and enhancing compliance within State-Owned Enterprises.
