
MONROVIA – As part of ongoing efforts to enhance public understanding of the Performance Management and Compliance Systems (PMCS) and promote consistent, strategic communication across government, the Cabinet Office through its Secretariat on Monday, May 26, 2025, held a PMCS Communications focal persons training.
The training session was held under the theme: ‘Strategic Messaging for National Impact’, and focused on building national alignment in messaging, strengthening public engagement strategies, and supporting media visibility of ongoing PMCS activities and outcomes.
According to the Director-General of the Cabinet, Nathaniel Kwabo, the purpose of the training is to, strengthen communication across PMCS goals, achievements, and national relevance; to equip communications staff to engage the public and media more effectively; and to ensure consistency in messaging and accountability.

Its objectives focused on equipping institutional coordination with the skills and tools to effectively promote PMCS results, processes, and national milestones. Also, it will strengthen coordination and message alignments between the Cabinet Secretariat, MACS, and media partners to ensure consistent, accurate and impartial public communication. And conclusively, it will build institutional capacity for sustained public engagement, including participation in radio talk shows, stakeholders’ briefings, and social media campaigns that amplify the national significance of the PMCS and the ARREST Agenda.
Presentations were made on the introduction and overview of strategic purpose; with Section I focusing on PMCS overview & ARREST alignment, and significance of the upcoming 2025 Presidential Performance contract Signing Ceremony and the Announcement of the 2024 PMCS Result.
Section II was centered on Messaging, Media & Public Engagement; which highlighted role of media focal person, messaging toolkit, use of radio & talk shows for broader outreach, and teaming by skill set with example being radio, press and social media.

Section III of the training fixated on Leveraging Digital, highlighting social media strategy to enhance the PMCS visibility, and promoting accountability through media.
Several communication directors, assistant communication directors, public relations/information officers, or its equivalent officers of Government Ministries, Agencies, Commissions and State-Owned Enterprises (MACS) attended the training held at the Bella Casa Hotel in Sinkor, Monrovia.
