Wearing the Captain armband for the Ministry, which regulates the Mines and Energy Ministry, Larwuba Kpaiwolo, has set positive sights on the winners’ trophy as he leads the Ministry’s football team in this year’s edition of the tournament intended for government institutions to intermingle and have some leisure.
Kpaiwolo told reporters in an ecstatic interview after Mines and Energy secured a 2-0 victory over the State broadcaster – ELBC— on Thursday, April 24, 2025, that given the tactical composition of the MME playing squad under the tutelage of Coach Jeremiah C. Wilson, the team is in the shape required to emerge eventual winners of the grand prize (trophy). A Licensed Land Surveyor by profession, Larwuba Kpaiwolo believes Mines and Energy will not drop any three points in the ongoing campaign.
Looking to the Ministry’s next fixtures, Captain Kpaiwolo sent out a strong caution to opponents that this year’s Mines and Energy squad is “hot to handle”, saying further that all three points will definitely be claimed by the mining and energy sectors regulators. A brace from Striker Peter Blidi, Jr, alias ‘Sakajipo’, did the 2-0 onslaught to the broadcasters of ELBC/LNTV, before the supportive and watchful eyes of Mines Minister Wilmot Paye.
Immense motivation for the victory over LBS also came through the presence of Deputy Minister for Administration, Eudora Blay-Pritchard, Deputy Minister for Operations, William Hines, and Deputy Minister for Planning, Research and Development, Fahnseth Mulbah, all of whom were cheerleading the Kickball, and Football teams of the Ministry of Mines and Energy at the sports stadium of the Armed Forces of Liberia in central Monrovia. Deputy Minister for Energy, Charles Umehai, was also another big motivation to the team’s, participating in all of the practice sessions. The brilliant women of Mines and Energy were first to signal an all-round victory for Mines and Energy, as they pulled the strings with a 5-0 homeruns victory against ELBC’s women.
Kpaiwolo expressed warm commendations to the Senior Management Team headed by Minister Wilmot Paye for the high level of motivational support the teams are receiving during this year’s intra-governmental sports competition. According to the MME Football Captain, the team will reciprocate such good leadership from their officials by approaching every match with firm focus and determination to outclass opponents game by game and bring the trophy in the compound of the Ministry on Capitol Hill.
