
MONROVIA – The Chief Executive Officer of the Giving Back Foundation Inc., Deacon Telee N. Brown, has expressed deep admiration for First Lady Madam Katumu Y. Boakai’s dedication to improving health, education, and women’s empowerment across Liberia.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to Madam Boakai at her office, aimed at fostering collaboration, strengthening partnerships, and expanding educational and empowerment opportunities for young Liberians, especially women, girls, and the less fortunate.
During their meeting, Deacon Brown briefed the First Lady on the Foundation’s ongoing work in promoting academic excellence, youth empowerment, and support to orphans and disadvantaged groups.
He highlighted the Foundation’s specialist training programs designed to build capacity among persons with disabilities and underprivileged youth.
Deacon Brown praised Madam Boakai for her outstanding contributions to healthcare and education, noting her efforts in hospital renovations and the provision of essential drugs for communities across the country.
He said such interventions demonstrate her compassion and commitment to improving the lives of ordinary Liberians.
The Giving Back Foundation CEO also applauded the First Lady’s educational initiatives particularly the renovation of Gertrude Yancy School in Bomi County which he described as “a beacon of hope that has revived enthusiasm among both students and teachers.”
Reflecting on their shared history, Deacon Brown recalled Madam Boakai’s support to the Klay Youth Association during the late 1980s and early 1990s when he served as its president.
He expressed gratitude for her continued dedication to empowering the youth of Bomi County and Liberia at large.
He further encouraged the First Lady to continue her humanitarian efforts, reaffirming the Giving Back Foundation’s commitment to partnering with her office to advance education, healthcare, and empowerment initiatives.
In response, First Lady Katumu Y. Boakai thanked Deacon Brown and the Giving Back Foundation for their longstanding commitment to community development.
She emphasized that education and healthcare remain top priorities for her office, aligning with the government’s broader vision for a prosperous and inclusive Liberia.
Madam Boakai assured the Foundation of her willingness to collaborate in implementing transformative programs that empower youths, uplift women, and strengthen families.
Both parties expressed optimism about the partnership and reaffirmed their shared mission to drive sustainable development and positive change across Liberia.
The courtesy visit concluded with a renewed pledge of unity and collaboration between the Office of the First Lady and the Giving Back Foundation Inc., anchored on their mutual goal to build a healthier, better-educated, and more empowered Liberia.
