Various delegates have begun arriving in Liberia ahead of the much-anticipated FIBA Zone 3 U-16 AfroBasket Championship for both male and female categories.
The tournament is scheduled to run from July 10–17, 2025, at the SKD Gymnasium in Paynesville City, and will feature five West African countries: host Liberia, Ivory Coast, Benin, Burkina Faso, and Togo.
The Ivorian delegation touched down on Tuesday, accompanied by members of the FIBA technical committee. Other delegations are expected to arrive in the coming days.
The technical meeting and official draw are slated for Wednesday, setting the stage for a week of exciting youth basketball action. The Liberia Basketball Association (LBA) is optimistic about delivering a successful tournament, building on the momentum of its recent hosting of the FIBA Inter-Club Women’s Championship.
