Determine Girls defender Ruggy Joof has been honored as the Woman of the Match following Gambia’s convincing 3-0 win over Sierra Leone in their WAFU A opening match in Mauritania at Ksar Stadium.

The Gambian international, who plays her club football in Liberia, was a standout performer in the encounter.

Joof, a key player for Liberia’s Determine Girls since joining in 2022, has an impressive list of achievements with her club. These include:

Winning the CAF Championship in 2022.

Securing both the Orange Super Cup and the LFA Upper Women’s League in 2023.

Repeating the feat of winning both the Orange Super Cup and the LFA Upper Women’s League in 2024.

Continuing her success in the 2024/2025 season by winning both the Orange Cup and the League with Determine Girls.

Individually, Joof was nominated for the LFA Best Defender award in the 2023/2024 season, recognizing her consistent high-level performances.
