Liberia champions, Fassell Football Club, will continue their pre-season campaign in Cairo, Egypt with a high-profile friendly against Iraqi giants Al-Shorta SC on Wednesday, September 3.
Al-Shorta SC, recently crowned 2024/25 Iraqi Stars League champions, secured their fourth consecutive league title in dominant fashion, amassing 87 points from 38 games and clinching the trophy with two rounds to spare. Their consistency has firmly established them as the powerhouse of Iraqi football.
As part of their Cairo tour, Al-Shorta registered a convincing 3-0 victory over Egyptian side Al-Shams Club on August 26. Meanwhile, Fassell impressed in their last outing, earning a 1-1 draw against Tanzanian champions Simba SC on August 27.
Both sides will be aiming to build momentum as they prepare for their respective domestic and continental campaigns.
