Reigning LFA First Division champions, FC Fassell, are pleased to announce the appointment of Fabio Lopez as the club’s new Head Coach.
The Italian tactician officially signed his contract on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the club’s headquarters in Monrovia. He joins on a deal running until the end of the current season, with an option for renewal.
Lopez will work closely with the existing technical team, including Deputy Coach Matthew Julutweh, who has been in interim charge since November 6.
“Thank you for welcoming me in such a warm way. I am very happy to be part of the FC Fassell family. I accepted this challenge because I know I’m joining the champions of the league,” said Coach Fabio Lopez after signing his contract.
Club President and CEO, Cassell Anthony Kuoh, Sr., expressed confidence in the new appointment, reaffirming the club’s ambition to reclaim its dominance in Liberian football.
“We want to restore the dignity of our club. Over the past month, our form and pride — which Liberians have long associated with Fassell have dropped slightly. We are confident that Coach Fabio understands that winning is all that matters,” Kuoh noted.
Lopez’s first test will come on Thursday, November 13, when FC Fassell face LPRC Oilers at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex Practice Pitch in Paynesville. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
