PARIS, France — Foreign Minister and Dean of the Cabinet Sara Beysolow‑Nyanti says the government is moving to provide passport services in France “sooner than later,” addressing a top complaint from Liberians who now must travel to Brussels for renewals.
Speaking at a town hall with President Joseph Nyuma Boakai Sr., Nyanti said the administration is “taking note” of diaspora asks on consular services, shipping and port fees, and trade hurdles. “The President will hold us accountable… for what we’ve heard from you today and how we respond,” she said.

Nyanti also pledged to review airport entry‑stamp practices after travelers reported receiving one‑month stays despite three‑month visas issued by the embassy. She clarified the difference between visa validity and permitted stay but said the government will engage Immigration and the Justice Ministry “to see how long people… should have” and to align policy.
On sports, Nyanti said Serbia is assisting Liberia to recruit a foreign coach for the national team, with shortlisted candidates under consideration. She added that the administration’s “war on drugs” compels a whole‑of‑government response led by the Health Ministry, emphasizing treatment and dignity for affected families.

Framing the trip as part of an economic diplomacy push, she urged diaspora investment and said a mentorship/research support mechanism for Liberian PhD candidates abroad will be routed to Education Minister Dr. Jarso Jallah for action.
