MONROVIA – The Governance Commission (GC), through its Civic Engagement, National Identity and Visioning (CENIV) Mandate Area, has forged a new partnership with the civil society organization NAYMOTE Partners for Democratic Development to strengthen civic education and citizens engagement in Liberia.
The collaboration, discussed at a meeting in August 2025, will focus on empowering youth women and marginalized groups to play active roles in the country’s democratic governance.
NAYMOTE Program Director, Mrs. Peace Bayeo, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to tracking campaign promises, building young political leaders, and promoting good governance. “Educating and empowering young people is the best investment in our nation-building process,” she noted.
Meanwhile, the CENIV Oversight Commissioner, Mrs. Cytirus K. Kerbay welcomed the initiative, highlighting that the Governance Commission is already working with the National Civil Society Council of Liberia to develop an Implementation Strategy for the Government-CSO Accord and Partnership Framework.
Madam Kerbay said the framework will enhance collaboration between government and civil society organizations.
The partnership is expected to amplify citizens’ voices, advance national identity and visioning processes, and influence Liberia’s democratic reforms.
