Liberia Football Association Referees, officials and trainers

The Liberia Football Association (LFA) on Tuesday, May 13, officially commenced the 2025 FIFA Member Association (MA) Intermediary Referee Course at its headquarters in Congo Town.

The five-day training program targets 30 intermediate-level referees, aiming to enhance their knowledge, fitness, consistency, and overall performance on the field.

Organized by the LFA with support from FIFA, the course is being led by FIFA instructors Ali Mohammed Ahmed of Somalia (Technical) and Bento Thomas Navasse of Mozambique (Fitness).

They are working alongside local counterparts Stephen S. Kafi Jr. (Technical) and Jay Exodus Flanjay (Fitness).

Speaking at the opening ceremony, LFA 3rd Vice President, Mrs. Jodie M. Reid-Seton, emphasized the important role referees play in upholding the game’s integrity.

“You are the guardian of the game’s integrity. Today marks the beginning of an exciting journey one that calls for your skill, dedication, and a deep commitment to fairness. Refereeing isn’t only about applying the rules; it’s about protecting the spirit of the game and making sure every player has the chance to compete on equal terms,” she said.

The course, which runs from May 13 to 17, began with a fitness assessment and will include both theoretical and practical sessions to equip participants with modern refereeing techniques and standards.
