The Liberia Senior Women’s National Team has secured a spot in the semi-finals of the 2025 WAFU Zone A Women’s Cup, following a 1-1 draw against Mali on Monday, May 26, 2025, at the Stade KSAR Nouakchott, Mauritania.
Liberian midfielder Bendu Yantay was instrumental in the team’s success, leveling the score at 1-1 with a superb free-kick in the first half.
The score remained unchanged in the second half, with Liberia holding on for the draw.
Bendu Yantay’s impressive performance earned her the Woman Of The Match award.
With this result, Liberia secured the runners-up spot in their group, accumulating 5 points.
